You must be born again.

JOHN 8:47 8HE THAT IS OF GOD HEARETH GOD'S WORDS: YE THEREFORE HEAR THEM NOT, BECAUSE YE ARE NOT OF GOD.

I found this scripture to be true in my own experience because I was in the Church of England at the time I got saved in a Gospel Evangelical Service. I was a trainee Reader and was preaching regularly as part of my training. I struggled to read and understand the Bible, until one night I attended a crusade and the Evangelist preached on 
John 3:7 You must be born again.

When the evangelist called those forward who wanted to be born again, I answered that appeal, and met with the Lord Jesus for the first time. It was my experience that until I repented and asked Lord Jesus in to my life, I could not read the Bible or make any sense of it, and afterwards, I could not read enough of the Bible, and God showed me the wonders of the Word of God.
When I told my Vicar that I had been born again he said "That is nice if you like that kind of thing."He was not born again himself, and preached every Sunday.  All over this land there are ministers who speak from the pulpits in churches and chapels that are not born again, and no one gets born again under their ministry. Occasionally we hear of a preacher being born again as they were preaching, and this happened some years ago to a vicar in the west country. The word of God has not lost it's power, and the Holy Spirit still convicts. The veil still gets removed from those blinded by the evil one that rules in this world.

Prayer: Thank you Lord our God that you have enabled us to understand your word and we pray that through your Holy Spirit you will continue to guide us that your will be done and your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
