OUR PRIDE-CHALLENGES GOD

PRIDE

Pride-Challenges God.

Pride -  wants to please self rather than Him.

Pride -leads many to contradict God's Word, preferring their own reason and ideas.

Pride - ignores the need for spiritual discipline and exalts self.

Pride - draws attention to the Christian rather than his Lord, when witnessing or testifying.

Pride - causes the believer to want recognition, position, thanks and praise from others.

Pride - wants others to know of the Christian's virtues, accomplishments, revelations, healings and miracles.

If the Glory is not taken from the Lord at least it is shared by the proud believer instead of being given exclusively to JESUS.  The works of the flesh are worth nothing.  And the works of the Spirit are just that, the works of the Spirit: and therefore all the glory for them belongs to the Lord Jesus.

Can we expect to receive all God wants to give us without being prepared to respond to His Word?
The self-life does not want to fall into the ground and die.  It will do anything to resist such total commitment, which is why the Church does not experience continual revival.

Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.  (Phil.2v's5-7)
