OVERCOME TEMPTATION

Disciple John

James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love him.

One of the ways we become the victorious winners, overcoming temptation is when we can successfully endure those temptations. That word “Endure” means to suffer something difficult, unpleasant or painful.

If you look at the fourth chapter of the Gospel Matthew you will read about when our lord Jesus was in the wilderness where He fasted for 40 days and nights and then the devil came. Matthew 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, “If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.” You will see here the devil is called the tempter, and that is something he does through the demons that serve him.

Sometimes it comes through people who are not Christian who will entice or provoke us to sin.  Let us fight the good fight and resist all temptation, then one day we will get the crown promised to those who love the Lord Jesus.

Charles Spurgeon. said this: What settings are you in when you fall? Avoid them. What props do you have that support your sin? Eliminate them.

Prayer: Thank you our loving Heavenly Father for helping us to endure temptation that we are better able to serve you that your will be done, and your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. Through Jesus Christ our Lord Amen
